Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 August 2026

Cassvo Limited Liability Company ("Cassvo", "we", "us", "our") operates the Cassvo mobile application and the website at cassvo.com (together, the "Service"). Cassvo is a business directory and review platform for businesses in Ghana.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to everyone who uses the Service.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

1. A Note on What We Do Not Do

To be explicit, because it shapes everything below:

  • We do not run advertising in the Service, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
  • We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The app contains no advertising identifiers, no cross-app or cross-site tracking, and no behavioural profiling.
  • We do not track your device location. The app does not request location permission and does not collect GPS or precise location data.
  • We do not take payments through the Service, and we do not collect card or bank details.
  • We do not offer social-media login, and we do not receive data about you from Facebook, Google, or similar providers.
  • We do not process special-category ("sensitive") personal data, such as health, biometric, religious, or political data.

2. Information You Give Us

Account information. To create an account we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored only as a secure cryptographic hash — we never see or store your password in readable form). During sign-up we also ask for a mobile phone number.

Profile information (optional). You may add a profile photograph and a general location (for example, "Accra, Ghana") to your profile. These are optional; the Service works without them.

Content you post. When you use the Service you may create:

  • Reviews — a star rating, written feedback, optional photographs, and optional tags such as price range or how busy a place was;
  • Collections — named lists of businesses, with an optional cover image;
  • Reports — when you report a review, we record which review you reported and any reason you give;
  • Blocks — when you block a user, we record that you have blocked them.

Support correspondence. If you contact us or use "Report a Problem" in the app, we collect the message you send and the email address you give us so we can reply.

3. Information Collected Automatically

Account and content metadata. We record timestamps for account creation and for content you post, and we associate your content with your account.

Push notification token. If you allow push notifications, the operating system issues an anonymous device token which we store against your account so we can send you notifications (for example, when your review is approved). This token identifies a device installation, not you personally, and it is deleted when you delete your account. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings or at Profile → Settings → Notifications.

Technical error logs. If something goes wrong, our systems may record technical details of the failure so we can diagnose it. These logs are not used to build a profile of you.

We do not use cookies for tracking in the mobile app. Our website uses only cookies strictly necessary to make the site function.

5. Information That Is Public

Cassvo is a public review platform. When you post a review or create a public collection, the following are visible to anyone using the Service, including people without an account:

  • your display name and profile photograph;
  • the content of your review, its star rating, any photographs attached, and the date;
  • the business you reviewed.

Your email address, phone number, and password are never shown publicly.

Please do not include personal or sensitive information about yourself or others in a review. You can delete your reviews at any time from Profile → Your Reviews.

6. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

Service providers who operate the Service on our behalf:

  • Supabase — our database, authentication, and file-storage provider. Your account details and content are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
  • Expo (Expo Application Services) — delivers push notifications to your device and distributes app updates.
  • Apple and Google — operate the app stores through which the app is distributed, and the notification systems (APNs and FCM) that deliver push notifications.

These providers process your information only on our instructions and under contractual obligations to protect it to a standard at least equivalent to this policy. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Other users — see Section 5.

Legal and safety — we may disclose information where we are required to by law, court order, or a valid request from a public authority, or where disclosure is necessary to investigate a violation of our Terms, protect the rights or safety of any person, or defend a legal claim.

Business transfers — if Cassvo is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

7. Third-Party Destinations You Choose to Open

Some features open something outside Cassvo:

  • Tapping a business's address opens Google Maps with that business's address as the destination. We pass only the destination address. We do not send Google your identity, your account, or your location.
  • Tapping a business's website, or our Terms or Privacy Policy, opens that page in an in-app browser.

Once you leave Cassvo, the destination's own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for third-party practices.

8. International Transfers

Cassvo operates in Ghana, but our service providers may store or process data on servers outside Ghana. Where information is transferred internationally, we require appropriate safeguards — contractual protections with our providers — so your information receives an equivalent level of protection.

9. How Long We Keep Your Information

DataRetention
Account informationUntil you delete your account
Reviews, collections, photosUntil you delete them, or until you delete your account
Reports and blocksUp to 24 months, so we can act on repeat abuse
Push notification tokenUntil you disable notifications or delete your account
Support correspondenceUp to 24 months after the matter is resolved
Technical error logsUp to 90 days

We may retain information for longer where the law requires it, or where it is needed to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.

10. Deleting Your Account and Your Data

You can delete your account at any time, from inside the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account.

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, your reviews and ratings, your uploaded photographs, your collections, your saved businesses, your votes, and your push notification token. This is irreversible — we cannot restore a deleted account.

Anonymised or aggregated data that can no longer identify you may be retained. We may also retain limited records where the law requires it.

You may also delete individual reviews (Profile → Your Reviews) without deleting your account.

If you cannot access the app, email support@cassvo.com from your registered address and we will action the deletion.

11. Your Rights

Under the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) — and, where they apply to you, other data-protection laws — you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information (most of it is editable at Profile → Settings → Account Info);
  • delete your information (see Section 10);
  • object to or restrict our processing of your information;
  • withdraw consent where we rely on it — for example, by turning off push notifications;
  • data portability — receive a copy of the information you provided in a portable format;
  • complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@cassvo.com. We respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

12. Security

We protect your information with measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest, hashed passwords, database row-level security so users can only access data they are entitled to, and restricted administrative access.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the Data Protection Commission as required by law.

13. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email support@cassvo.com and we will delete it promptly.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and where the change is material we will give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Please review this page periodically.
